These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RecoveryCove mobile app, website at recoverycove.center, and related services (together, the "Service"), provided by RecoveryCove ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, joining an organization, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you're accepting on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes the organization.
RecoveryCove is a software-as-a-service case-management platform for wildlife rehabilitation organizations. It lets organizations manage animal intake, health and treatment records, incident reports, tags, locations, media, team members, and data sharing with verified partner organizations. The Service is delivered digitally through our Android app and web-based tools; there are no physical goods shipped. Access to paid features begins as soon as a subscription payment is confirmed.
Each organization on RecoveryCove has one Owner, who controls the organization's subscription, billing, and membership. The Owner and other authorized roles decide who joins the organization and what each member can see and do. Your organization, not RecoveryCove, is responsible for how it assigns roles and permissions to its members.
To protect sensitive wildlife data, organizations must complete verification before accessing certain features, such as partner data sharing or restricted species records. Verification may include an IRS EIN check, public business registry lookups, and identity verification through Stripe Identity, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may decline, delay, or revoke verification if information can't be confirmed or appears inaccurate.
You're responsible for holding and maintaining any federal, state, or local permits required for your wildlife rehabilitation activities. Using RecoveryCove doesn't grant, replace, or satisfy any permit or regulatory requirement.
RecoveryCove offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. Plans differ by limits such as the number of active animals in care, total file storage, and member seats. We may also offer optional add-ons, such as extra storage. The current plans, prices, limits, and features are shown in the app before you purchase, and the price you'll pay is always displayed before you confirm.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store full card numbers on our own servers. By subscribing, the Owner authorizes us, through Stripe, to charge the payment method on file for the subscription and any add-ons they select.
The Owner can cancel a paid subscription at any time from the organization's subscription settings in the app, or by emailing hello@recoverycove.center. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your organization keeps paid features until the end of the current billing period, then moves to the free plan. Your organization's records remain available under the free plan's limits, and you can request an export or deletion of your data at any time.
Because subscriptions can be canceled at any time and paid access continues through the end of the period you've paid for, payments are generally non-refundable, and we don't provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused features. We will, however, issue refunds in these cases:
To request a refund, email hello@recoverycove.center within 30 days of the charge with your organization name and the date and amount of the charge. We'll respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first. We're a small team and we'll work with you directly to resolve billing issues quickly.
You agree not to:
Ownership. Your organization owns the records, photos, and other content it enters into RecoveryCove ("Organization Data"). We don't claim ownership of it.
License to operate. You give us permission to host, store, process, back up, and display Organization Data only as needed to provide, secure, and support the Service, and to share it with partner organizations when your organization chooses to connect with them.
Privacy. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
Your responsibility. You're responsible for the accuracy of Organization Data and for having the rights and any consents needed to upload it. You're also responsible for keeping any records you're legally required to keep; we recommend exporting important records periodically.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
Members of the public may be able to report sighted tags or animals in distress. Submitting a public report is always free. Reports are routed to wildlife organizations for review, and we can't guarantee that any organization will respond, or how quickly. In an emergency involving human safety, call 911. For animals in immediate danger, also contact your local wildlife authority or rescue hotline directly.
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Google Firebase and Google Cloud for hosting and storage, Stripe for payments and identity verification, and public registries for organization verification. Your use of features that involve these providers may also be subject to their terms. We aren't responsible for third-party services we don't control.
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate an account or organization if it violates these Terms, if verification information proves false, if required by law, or to protect animals, users, or the Service. Where reasonable, we'll give notice and a chance to fix the issue first. If we terminate a paid subscription without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of any prepaid period. After termination, we'll make Organization Data available for export for at least 30 days on request, unless legally prohibited.
RecoveryCove is a record-keeping and coordination tool. It does not provide veterinary, medical, legal, or regulatory advice, and it isn't a substitute for professional judgment. Decisions about animal care, treatment, release, and legal compliance remain your responsibility.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RecoveryCove will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising out of or related to the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to defend and indemnify RecoveryCove against claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your Organization Data, or your wildlife rehabilitation activities.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at hello@recoverycove.center and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Any claim that isn't resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify organization Owners by email or in the app at least 15 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and RecoveryCove about the Service.
For questions about these Terms, billing, cancellations, or refunds, contact us at hello@recoverycove.center. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 2 business days.
